Mission & Vision: Wildflowers & Co. is a restorative literary multimedia publishing company dedicated to facilitating trauma healing within and across communities through storytelling, creative arts, education, and strategic partnerships. We offer healing and empowerment tools that support those experiencing cultural trauma and systemic barriers, helping them reclaim their stories, build strong communities, and create lasting social change. We envision a world where storytelling is a powerful tool for healing from cultural trauma, rebuilding family and community connections, and fostering justice and balance in society. Guided by the virtues of Ma’at, we aim to create spaces where truth is honored, justice is served, and harmony is restored.

 

Bio: Dr. Ayana T. Hardaway is an educational sociologist, storyteller, and restorative practitioner with over 18 years of experience. As the Founder and CEO of Wildflowers & Co. Publishing, she leads with a commitment to Ubuntu and Ma’at, ensuring truth, justice, and balance in the organization’s work. Her research focuses on critical qualitative methodologies and Black feminist frameworks, particularly the experiences of Black women and girls in education. Her book, From Crack Mother to Wildflower: Writing to Transgress—The Sankofa Writing Method, challenges stigmatizing narratives surrounding Black women during the crack epidemic. Her work has been featured in Introduction to Afrofuturism: A Mixtape in Black Literature & Arts, the Journal of Postsecondary Student Success, and the Journal of African American Women and Girls in Education.
